    Fun Plugins Empty Fun Plugins

Post by Benislav Sat Jun 22, 2013 7:30 pm

Hey, I'd like to start up a discussion/suggestion area for some plugins meant really only for fun.  I was thinking back to a server I helped with a while ago, and I know a lot of people had fun on an arena plugin we had that would essentially put you into an arena with a new inventory, have you battle with some others, and then it would take you out.  I felt like this could be something neat to bring to the server, and thought maybe we could see some inter-town fights or tournaments.

Basically, I'd like to ask: Would anyone like to suggest any plugins that would add some fun to the game?  I'm currently thinking of maybe building the arenas in a separate world, but we could conceivably add anything.  I thought spleef might be kinda cool.  Any ideas?

I personally love the creative server idea! I've used Plotme before and it's actually a very nice plugin. I'm not completely sure about W/E though because I think creative builds are much more impressive when done by hand (erm, Minecraft hand?).

Your plugins look very cool by the way!

Oh, I just view World Edit as just a tool. Its nice for huge builds to be able to do some copy paste, help with shapes such as sphere or large circles and things like this.
When I build I normally build most by hand, as world edit can't really create the details and depth to build, but I use world edit to copy paste for symmetry, terraforming if I want a special landscape, the replacer tool if I want to see how this or that block look like in my build without having to remove and place again Smile

Just my view of it of course, but I do think the plugin opens a lot of opportunities regarding creative builds and the creative servers I've been on players love having World Edit, and miss it and ask for it if its not there.

Another thing could be to add it as a perk in the creative world. Show your skills with finishing one plot with a nice build, filling the plot, showing details. Then you could get promoted to builder and gain world edit limited to your own plots with a command and block limit.

Its what I like about plot me is that they limit it so players can't use world edit outside their own plots. World edit can be set up with permissions, so you can give players block limit to avoid apeshit edits crashing the server and you can allow players to only have the commands you think they should have from it ^^

Ok, I was looking through this list of Mods and I am literally frothing at the mouth in anticipation of trying some of them out.  I love the idea of a mob arena as I am the kind of person that needs to come out of my ivory tower and start slaying something things, on account of the dying and the burning and the splodeing.

I also love the treasure hunt idea seems like a blast, also, any of the mods that add any kind of incentive for leveling up mcmmo stats.

I do realise that as we add these things we get farther and farther from "Vanilla" but, this is my first foray into computer MC, and it all sounds like fun.  Would love to start lobbying with people for some of these.

I'm rather fond of the footsteps plugin. It adds almost nothing, but I think it's kinda cool Razz http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/footsteps/

As far as Biomes o' Plenty or any extra biomes mod goes, I'd love to implement such a thing, but the main problem lies in that I'd like to keep the world border where it is until it's necessary to move it outward. When the time comes to move it, if such a plugin is available and popular on the server, I'd be very open to using it. I guess I'd have to ask, then, would such a plugin be yearned after as much if it were on say, the Resource world? I'd love some feedback on such a thing, as I tend to enjoy these mods.

I was thinking it being implemented as a resource world addon, it would make scavenging for supplies seriously awesome.

Absolutely. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if Biomes o' Plenty will work on SMP. I can do some looking into it and check for alternatives, but I know Biomes o' Plenty uses custom blocks and items, and I'm not sure whether or not those have been optimized for SMP. It'd be awesome if we could have it, though.
